The 6th edition of the 5K Run/Walk For A Cure Africa Ghana took place on Saturday, September 29th at the Lincoln Community School with enthusiastic members of GHL Bank joining for the third consecutive year.
This 5k run/walk has now become a traditional event in Ghana, bringing hundreds of enthusiastic participants of all ages, from all walks of life and with one purpose – To raise awareness, celebrate survivors and honor those who have fought the disease.
Run For A Cure Africa (RFCA) is a nonprofit organization which seeks to educate, provide free screenings and to alleviate the cost of treatment to impoverished women with breast cancer in Africa. The group organizes a fitness walk/run every year as part of its activities to raise awareness for breast cancer. The aim is to raise funds which are used for this purpose - educate, screen and treat.
RFCA Ghana links with individuals and groups to turn the breast cancer mortality rate in Africa into the breast cancer survival rate and GHL Bank remains an active sponsor and participates in the fitness walk/run as part of its CSR activities.
Not only did GHL Bank participate fully to complete the race but the bank was also awarded with the ‘Most Participated Group’ prize.
